This course used to be called Music For Moms.  I had to change the title because so many dads were interested too and felt left out because of the title.

This is a course for adults who love music, but who have little or no musical background.  The course will teach you in a fun way how music is put together - how music 'works' - and how the elements of music interrelate to result in musical style.

So, if you have ever wished that you could learn more about music, without learning to play an instrument, and enhance your enjoyment and appreciation of music, then this course is for you.

The course is presented in the comfortable and relaxed surroundings of my studio.

The course consists of 4 one hour sessions, which run over a period of 4 weeks and is presented on demand.  The minimum number of people accepted for a series is 4.  So, get 4 of your friends together and book evening or weekend sessions.

What are the prerequisites?

An interest in music and a love for music.

How is the course presented?

The course is presented in the form of demonstration lectures.  Participants are actively involved by means of adult-oriented exercises and discussions, which are designed to develop skills in appreciating and listening to music.

Which musical styles will be included?

Demonstrations and exercises will include a variety of musical styles such as classical, pop, jazz, rock, traditional and ethnic.

What are the goals of the course?

Firstly, to awaken in you an enhanced experience when listening to music and in the process develop your awareness and appreciation of music, and the role it can play creating happiness and prosperity in your life.

Secondly, to make you aware of the tremendous variety of musical styles that exist in the world today.
